One of the most common questions from artists I’ve heard in the six months writing for Handmade in PA are
- how do I find local craft shows?
- where can I find a good craft show?
- and how can I know about a good craft show before it’s happening?
There’s a bunch of listings out there but not necessarily any one perfect, definitive list. Here are three websites to use on your search:
Art Fair Sourcebook – This truly is the ultimate guide to the juried craft show circuit. The listings are based on reviews and critiques from the artists who participate annually in the shows. Listings are not simply advertising from the promoters, but covers both ends of the events.
Indie Craft Shows – Probably the lead guide to indie craft shows, this site also includes other craft show genres. It does include anything and everything from small markets to large events, which makes it a little tricky to find that gem.
Zapplication – this isn’t a show listing site. It’s an online application system that show promoters use for handling application submission. But the hidden treasure in it is the Calendar of Events page. Every show that uses this online system is listed and Zapp has become a very widely adopted format.
