So, What’s New With You?
Every creative person I’ve ever known is a do-it-yourselfer, make-do-with-what-you-haver, and make-do-with-what-you-don’t- haver.
When I met my husband I offered him a smoothie, and the blender broke in the process. He took it apart and discovered that some part was broken inside. So, he made a new part. That was the love ticket for me. Between the two of us we can practically make or fix just about anything.
As far as creating something entirely new, being original is always a challenge, because the simultaneous compliment/criticism of everything original is “Well, I’ve never seen anything like that before”, or “Well, that’s never been done before.”
If something is new then it’s hard to have a frame of reference for it, categorize it, judge it, fund it, sell it……
