Have you heard of the Uniontown Arts Fellowship (UAF)?
This nonprofit organization is comprised of teachers, artists, technicians and business owners, like minded individuals with a common goal of revitalizing the community of Uniontown, PA through art and culture.
Their mission is to promote life, hope and healing in Uniontown and Fayette County through the continual development of the public arts center, The Phoenix, where the community (especially underserved youth) can participate at a low cost or free of charge in music, theatre, dance, and visual arts.
The UAF provides art programs for children and adults. Wednesday after-school programs are held at the Uniontown Area High School Art Room, followed by adult classes in the evenings.
Fall art classes run through November 14, 2012. At the conclusion of the session, a Coffeehouse is held where students display their work, can choose to sell, or just hang out for an open mic night and some snacks. The next Coffeehouse is scheduled for November 15 at 7p.m. at “The Ave” (59 South Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401). A suggested donation of $5 will be collected at the door.
