I recently got an iPad and am just loving it. My favorite app, hands-down, is Instagram. Instagram allows users to take pictures with their device, apply an awesome filter (there are 18 to choose from!), and share. Instagram photos can be shared immediately to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, and automatically go into the user’s Instagram feed. I’ve had a lot of fun taking lots of pictures, playing with the filters, and creating a pretty cool little collection of photos. Already using Instagram? Request to follow me @handmade_mama!
As per my last post, a new painting finally made its way into our house! Evie brought her first piece of art home from preschool on September 20th and I captured this sweet moment on Instagram. Evie’s apple is prominently displayed in our house, but not on the powder room door, as she had previously suggested. Take a look at my proud little artiste:
Today, my husband and I are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary! In honor of the day, I created a really cool craft/decoration/non-gift (because we said we weren’t getting each other gifts) and took some great pictures to share with…yes! Instagram!
Materials: Proofs of our engagement photos, green floral wire, Fiskars scalloped heart paper punch, 1/8″ hole punch:
Positioning the paper punch in different places on the pictures, afforded me some really cool perspectives and opportunities to “zoom in” on certain aspects of each shot. I could focus on faces, architectural details of the places we went for pictures, areas of light, trees, my shoes…all of the important things:
How many hearts did I punch? I lost count. But the whole garland is over 8 feet. I know my husband will like it. He’s never met one of my creations he didn’t like :)
