Just when thoughts of street fairs feel like a distant summer memory, the folks of Somerset, PA pull out all of the stops with their Fire and Ice Festival. Featuring ice carvings, activities for kids of all ages, live music and food, it’s a sure cure for the winter blues.
Celebrating its 18th year, the festival was held on January 18-20, 2013 in Uptown Somerset, PA, which just happens to be my hometown!
Check out some photos of my favorite ice sculptures from this years event themed “Tropical Paradise”.
Did you miss the Fire and Ice Festival this year? No worries! The ice sculptures remain as long as the weather allows, and with temperatures in the single digits this week, you still have plenty of time to head to Somerset to see these beauties!
If you’ve never seen and ice sculpture being created, this video is a must see!
