To end the week on a light note. Many of Poor Dog Farm’s paintings and ACEO prints start off as a simple concept: take an animal (generally a bird) and put them in a hat. Sometimes matching hats with birds or mammals or even amphibians can end up being to cutesy.  Not these paintings. These are the right blend of serious and comical. Enjoy.

Okay, okay. Enough is enough. Here’s a collection of handmade goodness that represents all things that are not snow, white or cold.  So draw your blinds and block out the memories of shoveling endless mounds of white and enjoy a taste of spring.

In my spare time, I enjoy bright colors, animals, cooking badly, reality television, gobbling books whole, and contributing nothing to trivia. My favorite color is purple and I only drive Dodge Neons. I live in State College, PA with my fiance, dog, and stuffed animals that stare at me while I sleep.

I was a printmaking major in college.  And because of that I am forever bonded to the process.  I can smell the inks and feel the texture of the block.  These prints caught my attention by Tugboat Printshop (Pittsburgh).

The recent illustrations sprouting from Stephanie Corfee made me smile.  Thought I would share.

Computer-enhanced illustration is something I would love to try one day using doodles from my sketchbook, especially when I see fabulous prints like this one from Melanie of Pennsylvania print can be purchased from her Etsy shop, spreadthelove.  This print is on a Neenah Classic linen stock and matted in a crisp white border. Each print is signed and dated on the lower right corner.  It would make a unique and special gift for your PA Thanksgiving dinner host or hostess.  It is also available as a framed print to make the giving even easier.

Yesterday was Lola’s first birthday. Thank you to everyone who wished her well on Twitter & Facebook! We had a great party on Sunday night so the big day ended up being a bit anticlimactic… but I reminded her all day long that it was our special day!
